They are key drivers of innovation and product innovation for almost all industries.
In der Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar haben sich international führende Unternehmen, Hochschulen und Forschungsinstitute zum Cluster "Forum Organic Electronics" zusammengeschlossen. Die Clusterpartner aus Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft arbeiten in gleichberechtigter Kooperation an der Verwirklichung innovativer Anwendungen und Produkte aus dem Bereich der Zukunftstechnologie organische Elektronik. Schwerpunkte hierbei sind die umweltfreundliche Energieerzeugung mittels organischer Photovoltaik, die sparsame Energienutzung durch organische Leuchtdioden und die ressourcenschonende Produktion elektronischer Komponenten wie Schaltungen, Speicher und Sensoren. Die besondere Kompetenz des Clusters liegt dabei im Bereich der Drucktechnologie als kostengünstige Herstellungsmethode für organische Elektronikbauteile.
