About the RegioClusterAgentur BW

The RegioClusterAgentur sees itself as a service provider for cluster initiatives, business development agencies and regional innovation systems and supports them in overcoming regional transformation challenges.

The RegioClusterAgentur for Innovation and Transformation in Baden-Württemberg (RCA BW) is the new support agency for cluster initiatives, business development and regional innovation systems in Baden-Württemberg. In the new funding period 2021-2027 of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), it was created in response to the ongoing structural change in Baden-Württemberg and the associated regional transformation challenges.

RCA BW supports the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism in the implementation of the state's economic and cluster policy goals. For this purpose, RCA BW offers its services to regional innovation actors such as economic development agencies and cluster initiatives. This enables strategy-based cooperation and creates a successful innovation system to overcome regional transformation challenges. In this way, regional economic areas are put in a position to adapt to new circumstances even more quickly and in a more needs-based manner in the future and to become more resilient.

RCA BW is operated by VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH (VDI/VDE-IT) under the direction of Dr. Gerd Meier zu Köcker. He and the VDI/VDE-IT team have many years of national and international experience in the fields of clusters, regional development and business promotion. The RegioClusterAgentur for Innovation and Transformation in Baden-Württemberg is financed with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and state funds.
